Hello beautiful people!
If you don’t follow me on Instagram (which you should be), you probably don’t know that I am currently in the bright and shiny, LA! This is actually my second time here this year. My boyfriend, Sal, keeps getting jobs here and I can’t help but follow along! These past couple of times have actually been my first times in “actual,” LA. I’m usually in one of the outer cities or at Disneyland whenever I’m out here. Currently, we’re staying in Burbank, right by NoHo! This is definitely a nicer area of LA, at least based on what I’ve seen of it.
Trying to figure out how I’d get here was a hell of a hassle. While searching for flights I realized there was no way I could afford one. So, I started trying to explore my options. My first thought was to post on Facebook and see what some of my friends have used as a way of traveling. The best option seemed to be taking the train, but it wouldn’t be able to take me home in time for work next week. Then, there was the bus option. That was quickly ruled out as my dad said there was no way in hell he would let me ride a bus by myself with a bunch of strangers. I mean I don’t blame him because when I think about it, if someone was going to try to harass me I would totally suck at defending myself. I can’t even defend myself from a fly! Well, finally, my last option was to drive myself. This may seem to all of you like this should’ve just been my first option. But, no. My car was made in 2007, has nearly 154,000 miles on it, and is known at the local Discount Tire for having blowouts. Now, you’re all probably wondering how I finally got here. My parents suggested I just take my boyfriend’s car. The reason I hadn’t thought of that is because my boyfriend never takes his car on road trips because he thought it wouldn’t make it. I ended up getting his car checked out and had all the routine maintenance done and the mechanic said his car would undoubtedly be able to make the drive. So, with the mechanics approval I took Sal’s car! I had never driven this far all alone, but I made it all in one piece (maybe with a little help from adderral to keep me awake for the entire drive shhhhh)! The drive was super easy up until about an hour and a half away from my destination when I realized the driver’s side AC wasn’t working and it was 90 degrees out…
Anyways, while Sal is at work all day I mostly just stay in the hotel because I’m super awkward and don’t know what I could do by myself. I’m actually writing this post at the hotel’s pool because I felt like I should probably leave the room today. Last night, we went shopping at The Americana and I got some new nice sunglasses and a cute swim suit. I’ve really been looking forward to swimsuit season because I have been working so hard on my body and I’m finally really confident in the way I look. I actually keep trying to get a good picture of me at the pool right now, but I can’t help but feel like everyone here is watching me take it… They’re probably thinking: Wow, this chick is so full of herself and I swear I’ve seen her take like 500 pictures by now. Haha, I’m so ridiculous sometimes.
Eventually, I want to be coming out here a few times a month to do makeup on some shoots! That is one of the goals I made for myself to accomplish this year. There’s only so much you can do in Arizona, but I’ve been making really great connections with people in the industry so I’m sure if I really push myself I can accomplish this goal. When they say: It’s all about who you know, they aren’t wrong in the slightest. I started realizing that the more friends I make, the more jobs I’ll get. People would much rather help a friend out than help a stranger.
I’m super excited for the future and I can’t wait to start writing about more! I’m trying to keep this blog as much of a part of my life as I can because I feel like someday it will be really cool to be able to go back and look at all of this. I want all of you to be a part of my crazy life as well!
